The article by Bernie Matthews is a sad indictment on Qld/Aust. law. Yet this is only a part of the tale as I see it. We have Judges who have broken the law , fallen asleep during court cases, have taken years to make a decision on cases yet have remained on the bench. We have Judges going on paid( by us idiot taxpayers)o/seas junkets. These same people have inordinately long holidays each and every year as cases continually mount up in their courts. Get obscene and disgusting wages and perks. Then of course wearing their idiot dress with poofy wigs they have one or two parades/church services a year.
At the same time a lot but not all Judges and Magistrates exhibit an unbending, almost psychopathic dislike - or hatred of their State/Commonwealth Police Service. Then the courts where smug arrogant lawyers can cross examine very severely so as to cause the witness/s to break down and say perhaps what they did not mean to say.Rape cases it seems that the lawyers for the alleged rapist has open slather to, like an animal, totally destroy the victim. I have not mentioned those lawyers who are called criminal lawyers (and they are in my eyes)who will get a criminal off on a technicality. To hell it seems to the innocent member. Australian/British law stinks and it seems that it is there only for the so-called legal fraternity. Regards, numbat

I have personally seen an associate go through Courts which found him guilty, both in trial and appeal, of performing acts which break the laws of physics, based only upon testimony of a few closely associated people, all with readily apparent vested interests in his conviction, and absolutely no other evidence, except evidence which placed him several dozen kilometres from the scene.

I am contemplating, since Australian Courts so rarely get it wrong, contacting NASA and offering his services to them in Star Trek Transporter technology and Warp Drives.

Bernie,
Thanks for telling this story/providing an insight into the issue. I look forward to reading parts 2- 5.
Interestingly/sadly, all that was reported on the ABC TV news tonight was that the John Tonge Centre is having to out source its work - as it is apparently behind with processing DNA samples! No mention of the main issue.
