The plight of males with ts is even less understood by the Victorian Government as evidenced by the wording of the recent birth certificate law in Victoria. In a strange double take the fixation with genital appearance rather than with overall identity provides safety in the prison system for males with variations in sexual formation such as ts and cah. Yet on the negative side of this prison double take is the likelihood that any males with ts, cah or swyers are likely to be placed in a womens prison and restricted from mixing with the rest of the prison population, thus placing them in a situation of total isolation during incarceration.

It is no wonder that in such a situation the courts are unlikely to enforce a prison sentence on such men.

what is troublesome about the courts response recently is the statements by a magistrate that imply such men must reveal intimate/private and histroical details to potential partners to avoid being considered deceptive !!

The legal systems continues its ignorance on a number of issues that afffect such men.

Transsexualism in males is not the equvialent opposite to the situation for women , infact the two sitatuions would be better adressed if they were given separate names relevant to the affirmed sex identity.
