When you have young kids go through difficulties and trauma at an early age they develop a don't care attitude as a coping mechanism, on top of that hurt people hurt other people, not to mention the fact young delinquents don't even have the capacity to grasp the fear and harm they direct upon others.
My ex girlfriends daughter was bullied all through primary school and it made her time at school hopelessly miserable because of just one kid.
This kid would go up to an 8 year old and tell her that if someone paid him $10 he'd slit her throat, years of this kind of thing.
Can you imagine the fear this kind of attitude and behavior instills in girls, i.e the weaker sex?
How many days do you think this kid took off school because of it, despite being a straight A student?
And then the school badgers the parent when the kids not there, but does nothing about the bullying?
Teachers and the schools look the other way.
So don't waste the 33 million on stupid feelgood bs that achieves nothing, which is all you ever achieve - nothing, because the bullying always continues.
Spend the 33 million hiring other kids to bash and intimidate the bullies, because that's all they know, and if it helps them to end up in juvenile detention or jail sooner so be it, so the rest of the good kids don't have to be subjected to it.
If the parents raise their kids for their lives to be wasted then so be it. Put them out on a work farm in 40 degree heat away from the rest of the kids who themselves actually care about their lives and future.
You both disgust me, apologising for bullies, trying to play down the harm they do.
I wish you were subjected to it, you might actually find real solutions and come to some real inconvenient truths, your article is clueless.
You job isn't to protect the bullies its to protect those harmed by them.
