By Chin Jin, published 3/3/2025

Zelensky arrived at the White House, where Trump personally greeted him at the entrance. The Russia-Ukraine war seemed to have taken a crucial step toward peace.

Trump should have dragged Zelenskyy across his knee and tanned his backside.

First point: How much USAID / NED money was your mob getting?

Second Point: Your whole argument hinges on a lie that Russia is losing and will accept a ceasefire / freezing of the conflict.

They won't, which makes your entire article 'pie in the sky'
Russia have already stated clearly, (and time-and-time-again) the non-negotiable terms for an end of the conflict.
You seem to assume that Russia will be willing to go back on these stated terms' but they are not.
It's also safe to say that Trump also knows this and has already spoken to Putin about it and is willing to give the Russians what they want, otherwise any peace deal is similarly 'pie in the sky'.

Trump reminded Zelensky he has no cards.
Well Trump himself in the Russia conflict has an extremely weak hand.
What can he threaten Russia with that the Biden administration hasn't already done?

He's already signaled he's not willing to throw anymore good money after bad.
He's not going to put US boots on the ground.
He's already stated that Ukraine will not join NATO or reclaim lost territories, and Russia sees 'peacekeepers' as NATO troops which was exactly why he invaded in the first place, it's not going to happen.
Russia won't agree to a deal that would allow a Western troop buildup, either NATO forces, 'peacekeepers' or otherwise;
- who are merely there to become a tripwire that gets Ukraine into a hot war with the USA in order to enact the 'Ukrainian Victory plan'.

You can fool some of the people (99.9% of them) some of the time.
But you can't fool all the people all the time.

Nice try, but your articles a FAIL.

Trump has overplayed his hand.
He bluffed - and he failed.

As a result:

The USA is no longer relevant for the rest of the world, it will never again be trusted.
NATO has ceased to exist.
Europe will need to defend itself by itself - and it will: there will be pain but Europe will rise to the occasion.
Israel is now living on borrowed time. Once America squeezes what it wants from Israel (support Russia in Syria against Turkey, bomb Iran), the Americans will throw it to the dogs too.
Australia now has only India left to rely on. It should not even waste a moment longer trying in vain to obtain weapons or guarantees form America. Any Australian PM visiting the white-house would not be treated any nicer than Zelensky.

Ukraine? It just happens to be the location where the present battle rages, tomorrow it could be elsewhere. Poor Ukrainians cannot and should not bear the whole weight of defending Europe on their own.

This war is likely to continue for quite a few more years. One good result, though, of America's withdrawal, is that it greatly reduces the chances of the war turning nuclear.
