Planners see it mostly as an opportunity to create housing density around train stations, on the assumption that most people who might live there will also want to travel where the trains will take them.

Let’s invite the homeless to control planning laws: That without doubt would cut through the snobbery and arrive at practical solutions to a housing catastrophe which is escalating by the day.

While the Elliot’s of this world get their rocks off on stupid ideas with very limited outcomes, good people are being tipped out on the street with no alternative than living in a tent in the park.

Have been saying that for years. Always get flak though from the defenders come beneficiaries of the gravy train for saying so !
