Penny Wong gets it terribly wrong : Comments

By David Singer, published 4/10/2024

Ms Wong is obviously unaware of article 80 of the UN Charter which preserves the right of the Jewish people to reconstitute the Jewish National Home in Judea and Samaria, and more.

Wong gets everything wrong. She made a fool of herself in the UN, and embarrassed Australia. But, nobody, particularly anyone in Israel, takes any notice of Wong the Wrong.

One commentator writes this morning that Wong unites Australia by “angering absolutely everyone”. She is a morally bankrupt political hack, who wouldn't know a principal if it bit her in the arse. Hopelessly inept. Chastises the Jews for defending themselves. Even the Lebanese Muslim Association hates her, according to its secretary,Gamel Kheir.

Former foreign minister Alexander Downer - still on the ball and in touch - says that Australia is not being taken seriously on its cease-fire nonsense. A pause in fighting such as suggested by Wong and Marles is “out of the question”, and “little short of pathetic”. Australia's support for a ceasefire is “driven by domestic politics” (left-Wing obsession with minorities at the expense of the majority). That's what “human rights” means these days. The democratic principle of ‘majority rule’ has been thrown out by non-democratic politicians.

“ …. nobody in the world is listening to Australia anymore”.

Australia has no soft power, and its statements have no meaning.

I don't think Penny Wong needs to respond, she made herself clear David.

"Because a two-state solution is the only hope of breaking the endless cycle of violence – the only hope to see a secure and prosperous future for both peoples."

She didn't say 'might be the only hope',
Shes said 'IS the only hope'

This article is a perfect example of misinformation and ignores the progress of the UN since 1945-1947. Verbatim from UN The Origins and Evolution of the Palestine Problem: PART V (1989 – 2000)

"At the United Nations, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the General Assembly continued to reaffirm the inalienable right of the Palestinian people and all peoples under
foreign occupation and colonial domination to self-determination, national independence, territorial integrity, national unity and sovereignty without foreign interference (see General Assembly resolution 43/106).

In its resolution 44/79, entitled “Importance of the universal realization of the right of peoples to self-determination and of the speedy granting of independence to colonial countries and peoples for the effective guarantee and observance of human rights,” the General Assembly reaffirmed the legitimacy of the struggle of peoples for independence, territorial integrity, national unity and liberation from colonial domination, apartheid and foreign occupation by all available means, including armed struggle. The Assembly also reaffirmed the inalienable right of the Palestinian people and all peoples under foreign occupation and colonial domination to self-determination, national independence, territorial integrity, national unity and sovereignty without foreign interference. With particular reference to the Palestine question, the Assembly strongly condemned the constant and deliberate violations of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people, as well as the expansionist activities of Israel in the Middle East, which constituted an obstacle to the achievement of self-determination and independence by the Palestinian people and a threat to peace and stability in the region. From 1990 to 1993, the General Assembly adopted similar resolutions on the importance of the right of peoples to self-determination and independence."
