Albanese government rejects Senate Report on pandemic royal commission : Comments

By Scott Prasser, published 27/9/2024

In many ways the government's rejection of the royal commission proposal exposes how Mr Albanese's promises to appoint a royal commission when in opposition, were just political posturing.

No one should have expected anything else from a far Left government intent on crushing free speech and opinions on everything.

What a hypocritical cop-out ! Just like the Robo Debt inquiry. They're too afraid the real story comes to light that it was in fact Leftist Labor supporting bureaudroids who didn't do their job !
Yes, much easier to blame the then PM because the bureaudroids sabotaged the show by deliberately working against the Coalition Govt. No-one to-date has produced any memo from the PM that indicates that he or the Govt actually directed the bureaudroids to target innocent Centrelink clients to the point they did !

Dear Ttbn,

«No one should have expected anything else from a far Left government intent on crushing free speech and opinions on everything.»

So many words... please allow me to trisect:

No one should expect anything from government.

Period. From 21 down to 7!

Royal commissions cost - would you like to foot the bill?

Asking for royal commissions is like asking the tiger that instead of wildly licking the blood off his mouth after his meal, they should politely use a clean napkin...

Score one for the Greens - it seems that at least one of them can be sensible on occasion.
