The EU elections: the march of the right : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 13/6/2024

That said, any union of faux liberal types such as von der Leyen with those of the hard right of Europe is unlikely to be a fragrant one.

The “march of the right” is stupid phrase playing on imagination and suggesting that there is something to be scared of - shoulder to shoulder cohorts, shields, spears and helmets out to get us.

The obvious counter is that Europeans are sick of being “walked all over” by the Left. The Left in Europe now including what used to be called conservatives, and most people not onside with Nigel Farage.

As for “far right”, that's just anyone who disagrees with the far Left.

March of the left, more like it. European migration has increased hugely, undemocratically, even in UK, France and Germany. According to Kampmark, voters should fit in with politicians, not the other way round.

Steve

By "migration" do you mean the entry of illegal aliens, which is the main problem for Europe, and which is slowly turning Europe into the Third World?

Import the Third World, become the Third World, as we are seeing in Australia, with dwindling health facilities (certainly in Adelaide); housing shortages; high rents; soaring power prices; increasing censorship to stop us talking about things. Even threats of some areas running out of water.

Import the Third World, become the Third World.

That's a good question, ttbn. If you check the numbers, many EU nations (even France and UK) are like Australia, legal migrants are by far the majority. There's relatively few (including Italy and Germany) where illegals are a big problem.
