Chances of this and like situations improving while politicians are ruled by the Schizophrenics in the nut house, are nil.

Ban Tik-Toxic is one of their better ideas, where all thinking is done from the knee down!

It’s where all this nut job stuff is invented!

"Forty-two percent of prisoners in NSW jails are on remand, jailed without a trial."

When I first saw that number on Bettina's website, I thought she had to be wrong. How could such a large percentage of the prison population be there without having been found guilty of some offence?

But I checked and the number is right. And not just for NSW. Across Australia, over 38% of the prison population are being held without sentence. 16000 people gaoled without having been found guilty of any offence.

And yet following the hysteria of recent days over female murders, the calls for reform all move in one direction - make it easier to hold people in gaol despite not having found them guilty of any offence.

Extraordinary!! They call this a justice system?

Need to consider possible unintended consequences of locking up people who regard themselves as innocent without them having opportunity to prove it in court. Including possible retaliation against those responsible for preposterous prosecution. This could include in way that is unlikely could be traced back to the victim or maybe no grounds for prosecution if it was and possibly in the distant future if opportunity arises.. Remember the saying "Revenge is a dish that is best served cold". This could also apply to men who hold a shooters licence as if intervention order is applied for even if apparently just spite, the holder has to surrender licence to police and also custody of registered firearms they have to police or another eligible licence holder. Then go to court to get them back. Guilty until proven innocent. If not successfully contested in court, deemed a "prohibited person" regarding holding a shooters licence for FIVE YEARS after expiration of the intervention order.

Holding lots of prisoners on remand, especially for long periods, is unfair and undesirable. But the solution to this is a faster and more efficient judicial system, not freeing more potentially dangerous and violent men (or women) on bail.

Mox, dead on ! The Wimmins Movement, Feminazi's et al have, through rubbery figures successfully gained funding that goes into essays, discourses, Bachelors degrees, Masters theses and eventually onto policy makers desks in every jurisdiction. It started with Gough Whitlam and Lionel Murphy back in 1974 and the "Family Law Act" (1975). Dr Rebecca Peters (Strathfield Massacre/Port Arthur Massacre) got it to a fever pitch and successfully emasculated Australia post 1996. Sadly, a few months later, I lost 2 brothers in the subsequent Blackhawk Disaster. Forget about deceptive disarmament, fascists/communists in our parliaments (they've been around since 1929) and such, but simply through breaking up and atomising the family compact via their putrid gender bias, almost destroying and changing forever, Australian society as it was. DVO's/AVO's Restraining Orders ad nauseam taken out on partners (and don't forget according to them that says so) Male partners/spouses/ are ALWAYS the perpetrators and women never commit violence against their partners. Even the ABS data doesn't show with bar graphs the incidences of violence by women, only a mere mention in the footnotes. How is this fair reporting of the "facts" ? Facts conveniently capitalised upon for the agenda afoot.
