Risible rubbish. Australia is not looking for or preparing for war with anyone. But we do have treaties and alliances that we will honour!
If China invades a sovereign nation the US is bound to protect, then we might have to honour that alliance in order to perpetuate it. China is doing a lot of bully boy sabre rattling, in order to get the US and us to vacate the field and let them walk in and take what they want. And what China/the CCP wants is the world and its resources! And is prepared for the long game and taking small bites at a time to get it! Why is it that breeds power hungry lunatics. Why do the masses fall in love with them and their insane ambitions? And is the China loving author, bred from the same cloth. This bloke is, I believe, a fifth columnist waiting in the wings for a war with the/his evil empire? His weapon of choice for the moment is his pernicious anti-American pen. Alan B. These people leading the charge against China are fanatics, drunk on trying to maintain a crumbling empire.
Here's Kurt Campbell warning China that America will hold them accountable if Russia continues to make territorial gains: U.S. warns it will hold China accountable if Russia gains in Ukraine http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2024/04/10/world/politics/us-china-russia-gains-ukraine/ Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 16 April 2024 5:00:33 PM

Well for Australia, a middle power, the nuclear propelled attack submarines to be sold to us under AUKUS for about A$One Trillion all up (eventually)
represent the best future long range strike platforms for nuclear tipped vertically launched hypersonic missiles. So China is concerned about Australian nuclear weapons hitting Shanghai and Beijing in about 25 years time, what of it? Posted by Maverick, Tuesday, 16 April 2024 5:28:08 PM

“ … abdication of sovereignty”? The way the Albanese government and the useless alternative are going, we will be abdicating sovereignty to China, not the U.S.
