The missing ingredient - assimilation : Comments

By David Leyonhjelm, published 7/3/2024

Most immigrants became Australian citizens relatively quickly, the only negative being they had to renounce the citizenship of their original country; Australia did not permit dual citizenship until 2000.

Keep up, David, today is a completely different ballgame. Albanese and Chalmers are inflicting massive immigration, especially from Modi India and Xi China, two-year numbers 60% higher than Rudd ever dared.

Under today's woke culture, black good white bad, anyone who objects to this is automatically a racist. If it means extraordinary levels of rental distress and homelessness, that's just tough luck. Labor will continue to brag of its "43% emissions reduction", budget surplus and cost-of-living "relief", and world's best "multicultural society".

Dual citizenship and multiculturalism do not encourage loyalty.

“Most importantly, they became contemptuous of Australian culture and values ….”.

Yes, and they were aided and abetted in that by our rotten politicians and Leftist activists. They still are: in fact it has become worse.

Multiculturalism is being used by Australian governments on both sides to divide and rule.

Did I say 'both sides of government'. Sorry, that’s wrong..

I've believed for some time that we have a virtual one-party system with Labor and the Coalition being so close,

Dr. Jim Twelves, Melbourne University, puts it like this:

"Here in Australia, we no longer have the two sides of politics that the people choose between. Instead, we have a uni-party that receives its instructions from global elites and international corporate giants."

On paper and for convenience I am considered a dual national.

In reality I am nobody's national.

I have my own good values and do not require any of yours, thank you very much, especially not the archaic barbaric ones, including that foolish idea as if any of God's blessed lands and continents belongs only to a select group of people.

I am happy and fortunate to be here where I can meet and make friends with so many nice and good people from all over the world.

I would expect a better attitude from an author who considers himself "libertarian" and who did not even research his facts (I legally become a dual citizen here well before 2000). I would expect a better attitude even from a tribe of monkeys.
