The cosmic climate mystery is solved! : Comments

By Tom Harris, published 4/3/2024

Scientists have known for a long time that solar activity correlates well with climatic conditions on Earth. This should surprise no one since our home star is an enormous source of energy.

If the cosmic cycle is 140 million years few of us will be around to worry about it. Meanwhile parts of central and south western Australia are having their driest summer for 20 years. Sections of the Mississippi River in the US are no longer navigable. If that's the new normal the economic implications are major. I'd like to know how to solve those kind of problems.

No mystery, this has been known science for decades. Currently this science has been turned on its head. if we were in a normal cyclical phase, we would be entering a mini ice age.

Something is wrong and throwing known climate science out the window. And that something is greenhouse gases. CO2 and methane. The first the product of burning fossil fuels the second the product of the fermentation of organic waste from 8 billion humans!

This must change. we need to quite massively reduce our CO2 output and transition to nuclear energy as MSR thorium and recycling everything we can.

Instead of allowing methane created by the fermentation of organic waste from 8 million humans to escape, we need to capture and use it as a carbon neutral and endlessly renewable gas! Every Australian household produces enough organic waste/methane to power the house and the family jalopy.

Bah humbug, this is no mystery but science we've known for decades/centuries! reduced solar activity since the mid-seventies, should have ushered in a mini ice age. not record temperatures, granny killing heatwaves, unbelievable firestorms and drought with no comparison in living memory.

We have 2 choices, bury our heads somewhere warm and comfortable and wait for the coming extinction event. Or change our current practises and fuel choices for something else. That something else is nuclear energy as MSR thorium and recycling as if there is no tomorrow. Recycling using fossil fuels or renewables is a zero-sum game. All too expensive or simply compounding current climate change outcomes! complacency and our, she'll be apples won't fix a thing. We need to remove the current roadblocks that resist change or make it unaffordable for the average joe.

As Ian Plimer keeps saying, no one has answered a question he has asked many, many times: 'Where is the proof that CO2 causes global warming/climate change'?

He, of course, knows that there is no answer because CO2 does nothing of the sort: it has no connection to climate change.

I can't understand how - amongst others - obviously intelligent people can believe the utter crap that carbon dioxide, without which we would all be knackered, has anything to do with climate change.

This nonsense just follows on from scams that have been perpetrated for hundreds of years. All turned out out to be absolutely wrong. And, by the time the fraud was finally disbelieved by most people, the perpetrators were either dead or had scuttled out of public life.

Anyone still believing the essential-to-life gas is a villain is stupid. There is no other way of putting it.
