There is a designed inefficiency to Public Health delivery, without which the Stella profits of private medicine would be threatened. Not mentioned in this article!

Not sure that the medical profession is ready for this level of change!

Seems to me Nurse practitioners and pharmacists could do more if allowed.

And we could all benefit if we had visiting senior nurses, who e.g., used to run the visiting Xray and dental vans.

Change for the better would be most welcome, but not personal increased health care costs.

All the talk about dietary changes etc. Almost always is not practical for folk living on just 25% of the average male wage!

Lately, I've had a very aggressive malignant tumour cut out of the side of my face. And instead of replacing the skin that had to be removed with the tumour, from my bum or somewhere, they just stretched my face and sewed it back.

The result is a changed bite, a dislocated jaw and eating is often accompanied by my chewing the inside of my cheek.

I will need facial reconstruction. So be able to eat a halfway normal diet!

I was obliged to travel for diagnostic treatment and consultation for up to 5 hours travel on too many occasions. And not a lot of fun when you have both a fractured hip and spine.

As for radiation therapy, I have to pay for private motel accommodation and cafe meals!

We here in rural and regional Queensland have very much second-class health care and arguably the worst health care in Australia.

Bugger transforming the UK high street, it does SFA for us here in OZ or Q'ld!
