By Murray Hunter, published 2/10/2023

The campaign for 'Yes' and 'No' has degenerated into a ‘no holds barred’ wrestling match, where the winner will take all.

"Albanese is setting back the cause of indigenous Australians." Obviously true, but not part of the ABC-Guardian script, Murray.

When not if The Voice goes down, ABC-Guardian will be very quick to blame Racism, Dutton and Murdoch, and very slow to blame Albanese.

And also, The Voice was a ploy, to defer the issue of King Charles. Australia will never cut loose Buckingham Palace, under Autocrat Albanese.

Albanese has tied his fate to the Voice, silly man. Let's hope he and the Voice go down together.

The cost of this divisive nonsense? That alone should doom the thing, given the economy that Albanese isn't interested in. Voters might be thinking of the $40 billion a year spent, every year, on the aboriginal industry: twice what is spent on the rest of us.

They might also think about the alleged corruption and investigations into several aboriginal organisations, while they are lining up, possibly in the heat, forced into a stand alone vote that could have been held with a general election.

Atsic, Atsic, Atsic. Worse than Atsic; Atsic was dealt with by the Howard Government. The Voice, if successful, will be in place, dividing and costing forever.

The voice is bound to fail, and elbow knows it.

It is however, a very convenient distraction from issues like the cost of energy and all that flows from it. And energy generated inflation that other puts affordable housing even further away from young Australians!

So, he'll play it out for all he is worth then probably consider going to an early election while he leads in the polls? And do the lament thing about global issues the labor government has no control over as we prepare for war.

Alan B,
Don't get too confident. I've spoke with quite a few seasoned dope addicts/Labor supporters from age 20-50. Their support is for the Voice & when you consider that these useless are a majority in the urban centres, things aren't looking all that good for sanity prevailing !

Racial discrimination in law is clearly a dead end. It's been 250 years since European settlement all of which time indigenous people have apparently been victims. Does that mean they will still be victims in say the year 2270? Here's me thinking the settlers brought clean water, electricity, modern medicine, long distance transport, a common language and electronic communication. No benefit apparently.

Somehow the UK hasn't caught on to voice, treaty and truth telling. Perhaps because all the different genetic influences have assimilated which could just possibly happen one day in Australia. However Albanese wants to make it harder for that to happen. I suggest he is living in a muddled world of wishful thinking, not only with race policy but with energy and immigration. I'd prefer both the Voice and Albanese to be consigned to history.

I'm not too confident, but many Australians including some indigenous Aussies are set to say no, there're higher order issues that need addressing first!

The cost of energy and a government that could do something about but won't because, for them, nuclear is most definitely off the table!

The voice will fail, but will serve its purpose, distract the average mug voter from important bread and butter issues! And divide Australians.
