In an essay in The Australian, (7 Sep) Tony Abbott reviewed Pearson's speech and explained what has changed in eight years and where the voice has gone astray.

Pearson is admired? Come on!

Aboriginal communities - which means remote communities populated by a small minority of people - haven't changed over the 235 years that they have been getting handouts to scrape along in their artificial environments. They are part of a living museum that is unnecessary and appalling. All Australians of aboriginal background who are capable of doing something for themselves have already done so.

What is happening to the $40 billion a year that has had no effect whatsoever on the situation. Who is getting it? Why are they continuing to get it?

People in remote communities are NOT taking responsibility for their own lives - like 80% of aboriginal Australians have done - and they never will while corrupt, ideologically driven, whitey continues to interfere and enable them to bludge in the bush.

Tony Abbott is a political hasbeen, who had his chance to do something over many years, and now just makes boring speeches and tells people that they should join the moribund Liberal party, as if that will make any difference to anything at all.

All aboriginal identifiers in Australia who have made a decent life for themselves have done so on their own , and will continue to do so, without interfering politicians wasting $40 billion annually on people who have done nothing for themselves, and who have no intention of doing anything for themselves while others continue doing it for them.

Aboriginal people want to be absolved of obligations the rest of have to abide by. Victoria's truth telling commission recommended raising the age of responsibility to 16. That means if two 15 y.o.youths one indigenous the other non-indigenous are caught stealing a car only one is off the hook. The Eyre Peninsula nuclear waste facility cost $108.6m to develop and was going to pay for new facilities in town. The 200 strong Barngala community many of whom live in Adelaide 465km away said it was a sacred site. They can stop wealth creation for others as long as their own funding continues.

Today Aunty ABC tells us such talk is an outpouring of racism, oblivious to the fact they are stoking it. I'd call it 'whitefellas (and migrants) truth telling'. I fear we are in for a lot of it regardless of the October vote.

Jacinta Price, speaking at the National Press Club, proved beyond a shadow of doubt that her way, and that of her colleagues, is the only way forward.

Unless land councils, tribal elders and I would also include the plethora of white advisers are made accountable for all the money that is being poured into the Aboriginal Industry, there will be no closing of "The Gap". Minister Burney seems to be aware of this problem, but whether she can convince her colleagues to help her do anything about it is problematic.

Jacinta Price also made mention of the adherence to ancient tribal practices which result in sexual abuse of children and brutal treatment of women in isolated communities. These subjects are taboo, and unless they are stamped out, life in the bush will never improve.

The left are still perpetuating the myth that the so called "Stolen Generation" was bad for all those children who were rescued. A large percentage of them have been able to lead useful productive lives.

I shouldn't worry, Tony. The no case will probably get up and the question raised by you, will never have to be resolved.

an Aboriginal or Torres Strait islander baby born today will enjoy an equal right to grow up healthy and safe, to get a great education, find a good job, to live a long and happy life."

Therein lies the problem ! Equality ! Were the indigenous not being pushed through token UNI courses, free education, free travel, free health care etc that gap could be closed by now !
The intellectual parasites are using the indigenous (the real ones) as stepping stones for their own careers & salaries.
The panel of the Voice contains some pretty wealthy indigenous who haven't shown any care towards the ordinary folk so, what makes people think they're going to change ? Oh yes, they relentlessly talk about the plight of Aborigines but what have the done for then thus far unlike the Romans in England.
There are indigenous who managed to stay clear of these do-gooders & ended up with some fairly good & satisfying work & they don't appear to suffer any dissatisfaction particularly those who remained on their lands. They can see & appreciate that there are many non-indigenous who do it a lot tougher. Some can see the problems that will arise from the Voice !
