Governments are desperate to fund elite sport - and it's leaving the grassroots to wither : Comments

Australian governments of all levels should apply equity considerations when funding sport and recreation needs.

Don't know how you'd do that.

Perhaps you could reassign the education budget? Or impose a means tested levy?

Or just get the big tax avoiding multinationals to pay the same tax as local businesses pay.

I mean, there's only one bucket of money and it's currently servicing over a trillion dollars of debt.

Sport should easily be able to be self-funding ! If it's not do something else that captures peoples' interest & willingness to part with their money !
