There is also an admission by the Federal Reserve that they 'did not fully appreciate the extent of the vulnerabilities as Silicon Valley Bank grew in size and complexity'.

The latest run of collapsing US banks is on a par with the spontaneous collapse of US infrastructure, such as bridges and rail systems. I’m not convinced that a comparison to engineering is an appropriate one, looking at the evidence.
A simultaneous collapse of US Democracy is well advanced.

Can't comment, not well informed enough. Suffice to say, I've been expecting as much. And offer as a remedy, cooperative capitalism and banks morphing into credit unions that simply cannot grow too big to fail.

The future for the world is bleak and without some common-sense prevailing, we could be plunged into another Great Depression. All the signs, bank failures, bankruptcies and tent cities springing all over the place are signs that we must not ignore.

The, I'm alright Jack, politics, has got to end and these people made to do the job we the people elected them to do! They cannot be allowed to leave the best solutions off of the table because they're politically unpalatable, i.e., nuclear power as MSR thorium and or SMRs.

The current cost of energy can bankrupt the strongest economy and make no mistake, us with them! Because of current debt burden!

Alan B,
A couple of days ago I attended a public meeting in which the local Council was treated as a ‘I’m alright Jack’ outfit by the ‘I’m alright Jack’ crowd !
Until such time that those who do not perform can demand & receive rewards & benefits that those who actually earn them, then things will not change.
Anyone still objecting to a National Service for young unemployed is just another ‘I’m alright Jack’ Labor leftie Or Green !

Socialise the losses, and capitalise the profits, the catch cry of the greedy of Wall Street! The American juggernaut of Capitalism is not what it seems, in reality its a sick old lady on her last legs. Good article from Binoy as usual.
