Party members breaking ranks might break the Liberals : Comments

By Scott Prasser, published 24/4/2023

Julian Leeser himself says he remains a loyal Liberal. This seems at odds with his behaviour.

Leeser has no idea of 'loyalty'. He is a career politician and show pony who thinks only of himself. He should resign and try his luck as an independent at the next election, or go now and get a proper job.

Leeser's sort has wrecked the Liberal Party over the last decade. The hierarchy has allowed them to get away with it, and members and voters have left in droves.

The Liberals won't recover from their stupidity any time soon, and we will be left with an extreme Left government that even fewer voters wanted as first choice, thanks to our ridiculous preferential voting system, which needs replacing if democracy is to be regained.

'Tis good to know that not everyone in the Libs is sufficiently "loyal" to put party before country.
It might yet save them from electoral oblivion.

ttbn,
Our voting system is the best in the world, and makes it much harder for those with extreme positions to get elected.

Sir Robert Menzies often spoke of the dangers arising from centre-left parties imposing a collectivist, inflexible and inefficient approach to public policy and governance.

He is proved right every time we get Socialists in power. But, of course, Menzies could not have known that much the same could be said about his own party in the 21st. Century.

Australia is finished unless the far-too-silent majority starts to make a noise and demand a far better class of person in Canberra than the rubbish we now have.

Party members breaking ranks might break the Liberals. And a good thing if it happens.

Which would oblige the party to take a good long hard look at itself and current swing to the far right.

Which could sound its demise as a party that can ever win an election, let alone command enough preferences to get the Nats over the line in many seats.

So, it's not just the party at risk but the coalition.

The moderates need to consider their position and whether their personal political prospects would be enhanced as TEALS.
