NSW election a bleak choice between flat white and a latte : Comments

By Graham Young, published 21/3/2023

In the Tweedledum/Tweedledumber proscenium arch of Australian politics we have two politicians facing each other, with nothing of substance to separate them.

Both leaders are positively enthralled, that Morrison and Albanese managed to push net migration past 300,000 in the year to September 2022. And it would have gone higher since. An endless stream of wage-theft candidates consigned to the western burbs.

Whoever wins will do much pious posturing about "congestion busting" and the dazzling "Six Cities" (used to be "Three Cities") of tomorrow. In other words, go long on TransUrban. Or move out. Sydney is screwed.

Glad I don't live in NSW. Mark Latham and One Nation are the only hope; but it's highly unlikely that voters will take the opportunity to show that the major the major parties have had their day.

Govt is merely a reflection of the voters !
All take but no give. No reward for effort !

Indeed, Graham. And timidity and small target politics could win by a short head. If it's Tweedle dumb and Tweedle dumber.

Then the undemanding, apathetic electorate is to blame by giving one or the other a Guernsey.

If climate change and the cost of living etc., are the issues? Then why isn't nuclear energy as MSR thorium and power prices as low as 3 cents PKWH on the table? energy

We can have nuclear subs and nuclear technicians but not cheaper than coal, safer than coal, and cleaner than coal nuclear energy.

We don't need Tweedle dumb or Tweedle dumber, just someone with a functioning brain and some well-honed genuine economic credentials.

Don’t vote.

But this election will be different, I’ll not bother to turn up to scratch my name from the list.
I’ll pay the fine…best value!

Had some involvement in NSW politics for about 30 years, both from the Labor side, and later with the Greens. The Labor right has always been a stinker, no wounder Eddie Obeid was able to captain the ship for so long. I don't think the state has had a truly decent leader since the days of Jack Lang!
