Saudi-Iranian deal brokered by China will change geopolitics in the MENA : Comments

By Murray Hunter, published 15/3/2023

This is part of a broader Chinese initiative to broker a wider agreement, which includes Iraq, and Oman to reduce tensions in the region, and potentially realign the Middle East.

Maybe, but for how long? After all, these folk centuries long blood feud and an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth bloodletting conflict.

And Israel will be alarmed, and should be, given they will be at increased risk should these to combatants (!)s bury the hatchet.

Iran is public enemy no 1 in Israel and they have cause to be alarmed by any half decent alliance between these former combatants.

I don't believe China has brokered peace in the middle east but rather, poked a stick into a hornet's nest!

I believe this will end badly!

Thanks Alan. Great. Now all is clear. I just didn’t know what to think until I read your comment. But what about the thorium? Do you think the alliance would be interested. Perhaps?

"I don't believe China has brokered peace in the middle east but rather, poked a stick into a hornet's nest!"

This isn't a peace deal Alan B.
It's just the re-establishment of diplomacy
The two countries will probably work on a peace deal in the coming months,
And no doubt the US will start some civil unrest or blow something up in one of their countries to blame it on the other to try and scuttle it.

Dear Alan,

I appreciate your restraint in not disturbing our patient. Thank you!

Israel is now dying as it stops being a democracy.
Iran cannot kill Israel, but Israel now kills itself.
This internal corruption that started in 1967 when Israel took over and occupied extra territories, kept corroding the moral foundations over which Israel is built. These foundations are now visibly starting to crumble.

Iran does not need nukes, Hezbollah does not need rockets, they only need to wait and watch patiently as Israelis fight each other, as most Israelis worth their salt are leaving the country and as companies withdraw their investments in Israel and invite their Israeli employees, the best brains in the world, to emigrate and continue their work elsewhere.

I wonder why the Australian media is so silent about Israel's internal legal revolution. It is Israel's internal weakness alone that encouraged the Saudis and Iranians to come closer.

I am desperately crying over the fate of my family there.
