The pandemic is not over, we are just prepared to live with it. As for international tourists, they are usually cashed up retirees. And among the most vulnerable to this killer pathogen. So, don't look to offshore markets for former cash flow. And not where we need to go now.

What we need is a robust manufacturing economy instead of the fool's paradise we believed we were living in and flooded with cashed up tourists we could fleece to the max.

Our security depends on a robust and self-reliant manufacturing sector. Made all but impossible by moribund premier donnas/green butt lickers in power, seeking maximum returns for energy as a model to force Aussies to fit rooftop solar to augment state power and the rollout of renewables.

They need to be turfed at the earliest opportunity and replaced by can-do candidates who understand the problem and the remedy, i.e., MSR thorium/nuclear waste burners and power prices as low as 1-3 cents PKWH to households/the manufacturing sector.

Totally agree but what about the sabotage Unions ?

Isn't it dreadful that everyone has to be boxed into some industry, category, subdivision or sector? Can't we just live our lives peacefully?

Hospitality in return for money is not hospitality. Real hospitality is rewarded by patronage which off-sets costs !
Some of the tourist centres here are literally demanding extra for less !
