PM Albanese spoke to a uniquely powerful parliament : Comments

By Jeffrey Wall, published 13/1/2023

An effective parliament will be a significant bulwark against China's growing influence. It cannot offer a democratic model for PNG to follow!

PNG has a "parliament" typical of, (me see me want) cargo cult communities. And as a consequence, members can and do change political allegiance on mere whim, caprice and how big the bribe is or if their pride or feelings were hurt.

Not for nothing is it writ large, a house divided against itself cannot stand and explains the level of official corruption and lack of significant progress, even though millions have been poured in as aid.

JW was and in commentary, I believe, remains part of a selectively, deaf, dumb and blind advisor. Who, I believe, never once stood for very much or called a spade a spade when in office or gave free and fearless advice.
