Papua New Guinea remains loyal to its constitutional head of state 47 years on : Comments

Despite what China might be hoping for, the death of Queen Elizabeth, and the ascent of King Charles, is likely to actually strengthen the monarchy in PNG.

Forget PNG. Approval of the Monarchy has increased in Australia since HM's death, even with Charles. Pirate Pete keeps getting it wrong. May he continue doing so.

Hopefully, occasionally, maybe, perhaps. But not a done deal in a land where, a cargo cult mentality reigns supreme?

A long time ago when the age of steam prevailed, a missionary found his way to deepest darkest Africa and a local tribal King.

The quite hospitable King told his guest that his kingdom stretched as far as the distant horizon and beyond!

Whereupon his guest replied, the sun never set on his Queen's empire! The suitably impressed King inquired, if he could see this monarch? Yes, replied the Guest and produced a photograph of the Queen on her throne, replete with Crown and scepter.

The King asked if he could have all those adornments also. Of course, replied the young missionary and ordered theatrical props that filled the bill and his limited budget.

Six months later, said props arrived on the riverboat steamer and the king sat on his throne with crown on head and scepter in hand.

Then as was usual practice, started seeing subjects and dealing with their complaints and issues where possible. And duly noted that now his people stood head and shoulders above him.

So, to fix that problem had his throne installed in his loft. And climbed up a ladder, sat on his throne with crown on head and scepter in hand. As he looked down, he saw he now looked down and was satisfied.

Now the extra weight on the flimsy rafters cracked then broke them causing all to come tumbling down, throne, rafters and grass hut killing the King.

And the moral of the story is, people in grass huts, shouldn't stow thrones!

No mate, people in grass huts should move to the brick house of their brother, before the appearance of the wolf.

We’ll see now how fortified against the “wolf of woke” is the house of Windsor.

A move backwards to Saxe-Coburg-Gotha would match the mad backwards march of Western woke society!
