China has already settled on part of Australian Antarctic territory, without a murmur from Canberra. The CCP is very interested in the possibility of mining there. Xi and his thugs are not interested in 'pristine wilderness'.

Agree with most of this! The point about Morrison and the link with the powerful coal lobby is well made! If we want the likes of Russia and China to take notice of our concerns? It would assist that outcome if we were a nuclear powered and nuclear armed economy!

Almost as difficult an outcome, as asking someone to sit on your lap while you were standing!
