Australia is nuts in agreeing to adopt Net Zero : Comments

By Brendan O'Reilly, published 13/1/2022

The political choice now seems to be between Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Zero CO2 emissions, almost by definition, is an impossible target.

Australia is fine; it is the political class and green activists who are "nuts", dupes of crooked scientists and carpetbaggers making their fortunes out of the nutters and citizens who cannot afford the climate/renewables codswallop.

The big beneficiaries of net zero will be the genocidal billionaire Beijing communists who are already making a killing as well as their Western camp followers, the various carpet-baggers and shysters who expect to share in the profits. The losers will be ordinary people, with Australians being among the world’s biggest losers of all.

The problem with the world we’ve inherited is it has moved from control by market forces, to one of control of the market by a domination by ideology: A hotch-potch world of psychotic outcomes.
Any wonder the West is a breeding ground for mass murderers .

Gets madder and madder.

Net zero cannot work without fraudulent use of dodgy carbon credits. The credits may be exaggerated, multiple counted or wrong in principle. There may be no emissions benefit or in the case of rubbery baselines (the 'safeguard mechanism') emissions can actually increase. I have to agree with Greenpeace that all credits be disallowed as they are so compromised.

Recall NZ's Ardern being one of the first to announce Net Zero. The green cheer squad applauded loudly yet have gone strangely silent as the country's emissions subsequently increased. We may have to face the likelihood that some green ideals may never be achieved at the required scale. To take just one example neither of Australia's primary steel makers see hydrogen being cost effective this side of 2050 if ever. Yet the green dreams continue.

It all points to Western Democratic suicide, which will not only end the great western democratic tradition, though that is probably lost to the elites that game the system for their own benefit anyway.

It will also hand power to authoritarian countries who command the energy resources and manufacturing - Russia and China. These countries have also started moving away from the US-Euro financial hegemony which is flailing about in its death throes, like unreliable renewables.

It's all quite depressing.
