Seems a main reason Trump was elected President was that Hillary Clinton was regarded as so toxic by many people they would vote for any candidate opposing her. She only gained Democrat endorsement due to corrupt voting process and the popular choice, Bernie Sanders could have easily beat Trump. Regarding the recent election, which I watched on a couple of non mainstream media news sites as it progressed, was obvious that with an honest count, Trump would have clearly won. Especially the Electoral College votes of six "swing states" that were awarded to Biden. Several sorts of cheating and vote rigging mainly favouring Biden went on. A lot of this was exposed early but processes of challenging was often slow and difficult. Including being hindered by some people who should have helped not wanting to put themselves in a likely "firing line" for abuse". Such as judges making excuses of supposed procedural reasons rather than lack of merit for not hearing cases. Then note where majority support by electors for each party tended to be. For Democrats, largely states on east and west coasts and largely Republican in between. Then within states, Democrat votes are stronger in cities and Republican in rural areas rather like Labor and coalition preferences in Australia. However, the most important factor against Trump was the effective strong campaign by the mainstream media and "Big Tech" ie Google. Twitter and Facebook against him. Included blatant censorship. like being blocked from posting on latter two. Then I noted one classic re Google. Was a website www.stopthesteal.com which simply listed times and locations of protests in every state capital city and Washington DC against the obvious election fraud on every Saturday for several weeks after the election. A Google search for 'stop the steal" just brought up articles about supposed fake news etc. However, using search engine www.duckduckgo.com, the first site to come up was this straightforward one censored by Google. Anyway, Trump and supporters are close to launching their own social media site named Truth Social which should stop the stranglehold others had against him.

Good article.
Mr Suter is correct about a come back by Trump, but the opposition to his return by Big Media and Big Tech will be fierce. Biden and has-been Harris will play supporting roles. The left has been, as usual, shameless in their behaviour. Nary a peep has been heard from the ACLU or other leftists who claim to respect the US Constitution when it comes to defending Donald's rights to free speech on Twitter. Imagine if a BLM leader was banned from Twitter or an environmentalist who advocated something other than placid protest. The left would not stand for such bans. But to ban a former POTUS is acceptable to the left. Where was the left's outrage at Hillary Clinton who was exposed by Wikileaks for amongst other things, saying one thing about China to Kevin Rudd (in private) and the opposite (in public). Come on, now. When was she lying? Mr Sutur wrote: "The left whips up fears about police violence, poverty, the gap between the rich and poor, easy access to guns, and climate change". This is a good example of the left's hypocrisy. After all, if one is against "police violence" the answer is surely to tackle the offending officer. At the same time, it is improper to paint a victim of such violence as anything other than the truth. If the victim was a child killer, it is wrong on so many levels to call him a Mother Theresa in the media. It is also wrong to respond to alleged police violence by calling to defund law enforcement nationwide. Ask yourself why violence by criminals is highest in Democract run cities and states. The left wails about "too many guns" but the fact is that little has changed in the US Congress because a good many Democrats, on the issue of guns, vote with the GOP. As for "climate change", the shamelessness of the Democrats was revealed when a comparison years ago was made between Al Gore's fossil fuel powered mega estate and the sustainable estate of Bush the Younger. Its not a Trump 'comeback, because he never went away. The majority who voted for him in 2020 continued to adhere to Trumpism after the election and continue to do so.
As the US electorate has come to learn just how poor a pick Biden et al was, they have been abandoning him and the Democrats in droves. If the 2022 and 2024 elections are free and fair (and given the level of cheating now embedded in the system by the Democrats, that's a big 'if') then the Republicans will sweep Congress and the Presidency. Trump's current aim is to ensure that the RINO (Republican in name only) wing of the Republican party and in particular the RINO Congressmen are removed from positions of influence. As the primaries for the 2022 elections move forward, getting Trump's support virtually guarantees a candidate's success in those primaries. Those who have opposed Trump like Liz Cheney have or will see their careers ended. If the Republicans take the Congress in 2022, it will be a Trump congress. The article talks a lot about "culture also eats politics" as though this is revelatory. But Breitbart said over a decade ago that “Politics is downstream from culture”. This understanding is really the essence of Trumpism. The battle in the US is over culture not the politics. Critical Race Theory is a leader in this battle. Trumpism is the anti-CRT. The future of the USA as a global power is in the balance. By extension therefore, the future of western liberalism is in the balance. Australia exists only because western liberalism is paramount. The result of this cultural war in the US will determine whether the Australia we currently know will still be here in 2050. Posted by mhaze, Friday, 17 December 2021 9:17:07 AM

Here's something that asks some important questions:
http://theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/may/23/lock-him-up-why-is-repeat-offender-donald-trump-still-a-free-man Posted by Foxy, Friday, 17 December 2021 3:16:45 PM

Foxy's silly little article asks "The question that should most concern Americans who care about democracy is: why isn’t Trump in jail?"
One of the things they think he should be in gaol for is "election tampering". The facts that the whole "election tampering" thing has been comprehensively disproven seems to be a minor detail for the likes of Foxy - even if her favoured sources ever told her about it. So really the point of the article is that this man who endangers their cushy elitist place is society needs to be stopped by any means - fair or foul. Democracy? That runs a distant second to the need to protect the leftist ruling class. Posted by mhaze, Friday, 17 December 2021 6:38:38 PM

Trump is the go-to bogeyman for anything these days: even getting a guernsey in the Forum when a fraudster was found guilty of concocting a story about being attacked by 'racists'.
The only thing I will say as an Australian who has no say in Trump’s future is that I believe my country, and the Western world, would be a lot safer with Trump POTUS again.
