Yes. It's not hard to imagine power-crazed bureaucrats inventing a new strain as the fear and threats start to wear thin. The daily score of cases are getting a so-bloody-what reaction from most people who don't even know anyone with Covid; and old people hospitalised and dying has been a yawn carried over from the annual popping of clogs by oldies due to the ordinary 'flu and pneumonia.

As to downplaying the threat posed by the Corona virus it can't take away from 787,000 American lives lost so far not the fact that 23% of those over 80 who have contracted the virus in NSW die from it.

I understand the capitalist system, which you tout as the best for allocating resources, is the same one which saw part time workers shuffling between low paying aged care jobs thus spreading infections.

However it does raise an interesting point, would putting a price on it raised the vaccine's worth in the eyes of some of our hesitant citizens?
