Interesting read and perspective. No doubt we are all different.

Hmmm, I think we do not know enough about the early development of the brain.
The problem is perhaps the brain develops in a mistake reading of the
DNA and then it is too late to fix the error. The rest of the
body develops according to the DNA for each part of the body.

If that supposition is correct then the ones that are following
fashion, not having strong early age trends, should continue to puberty.
That will avoid those that take surgery etc and then regret it.
Proper research to decide which is badly needed.

«As children, we are introduced to the idea of linear progress,»

Thus child-abuse began.

«You will grow up and become something – a man, or a woman, a firefighter or a pop star.»

In other words, the child is told that they are not good enough as they are.

And consequently, as the article laments:
«If you are in an environment that punishes violations of sex stereotypes and you have no way to change that environment, seeking transition is highly adaptive behavior. 'Becoming' the gender which is allowed to act in the way you're punished for acting makes good sense»

No one can "become" a gender, nobody can reduce themselves to that, we are much much bigger than it!

I commend the article.

"When I was 16, I was sure that I needed transition, and I was skilled at convincing adults to be sure, too. I was excruciatingly jealous of kids who 'came out' in time to get blockers. Now that I'm grown up, it's hard to put into words how grateful I am that I didn't receive them."

"What I wanted when I was a child, or even a teenager, is not what I want as an adult."

Well the rest of us don't know either.
What exactly do you want?
