Antifa - No 1 in mostly peaceful rioting and looting : Comments

By Laurence Maher, published 28/9/2021

The victims will not have been amused by the very postmodern irony of the concept - the 'mostly peaceful riot' - which had overnight become a fixture of the vocabulary of the Church of Latter-Day AgitProp.

Antifa = BS writ large! I could comment further but my post would likely be pulled for the content of obscenities it would likely and justifiably contain.

I have no time for antifa, but this article is deliberately misleading.

Wikipedia does not “praise” antifa but does its usual job of presenting arguments for and against it. It doesn’t deny or downplay its violence. The full sentence in Wikipedia the author quotes is “Antifa's willingness to directly confront far-right activists (and in some cases, law enforcement) is a departure from other leftist opposition movements.” I’d hardly say Wikipedia “sings the praises of Antifa”.

The phrase “mostly peaceful rioting” appears frequently online in right-wing anti-antifa articles but, in a review of their website and last two years of reports, I could not find that phrase used by ACLED, I’d be happy to be corrected if someone can provide a reference.

Andy Ngo is hardly a credible and impartial commentator on this subject.

It is not necessary to quote far-right agitators and misrepresent mainstream information sources such as Wikipedia and the ABC to construct a criticism of antifa

Laurence Maher- Thanks for this thought provoking article.

Concerning that the Melbourne University Press is supporting the publication of the book Antifa- The anti-fascist handbook by Mark Bray

I looks as though Melbourne University is complicit with Antifa.

Very concerning.
