As long as terrorist Israel, aided and abetted by the US of Paranoia, continues its de facto apartheid against the Palestinians there will NEVER be any peace.

There is no easy solution to the Israeli Palestinian issue. Perhaps More work could have been done back in 1946 to stop it getting to this impasse. Perhaps the Roman's could have seen the problems inherent in ejecting Hebrew's from Judea back in 70AD.

Maybe the Parthian's were involved in that too.

It will be interesting which side China will take as it has greater involvement in the region. The Caspian oil situation will also be interesting given Afghanistan. From memory it was the subject of the Perle-Wolferwitz paper of 1982.

The current checker board configuration of Israel-Palestine is a mexican standoff- dragging both sides down- the only thing that seems to be stopping Israel being dragged down is the US- this deserves more analysis as to how this is actually embodied.

Very well, besides the terrible moral implications, the occupation also endangers Israel's security, but not enough to convince its leadership, past and present.

Same on the Palestinian side: their security is also endangered by the occupation, they also suffer miserably day and night by this occupation, but they too refuse to end it.

The tragedy is that both sides draw their identity from this violent game-of-conflict, there is not enough to unite them otherwise, so they prefer a sick identity over no identity.

Apparently, peace, well-being and security are not high enough on both sides' priority-list, with morality even further down their lists.

What bewilders me, is why the rest of the world cares so much when both sides, in their own perverted ways, enjoy the situation and want it to stay as it is?
