Wounded paternalism: Biden and the US 'Imperial Complex' : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 23/8/2021

Civilisation has tended to be seen like a gift by those claiming to grant it. It is done, in the sense Rudyard Kipling intended it, with solemn duty.

The ghosts of the Carthaginians arise from the ancient ashes, plundering the unsuspecting Roman supply lines, leaving them alone friendless and isolated: victims of their own ignorance and swallowed by the consequences of entrenched corruption and pride!

As always, the US and its minions in the West were dead sure that Muslims really wanted to be just like them. Muslim women wanted to be like men, and get around barely dressed like their own tarts, smoking, drinking, shagging. They apparently didn't see the TV footage of women screaming, 'Death to America'. While we Westerners have every reason to celebrate our culture, rights and freedoms, other cultures don't necessarily feel the same way just because we think they should.

Again, a lot of anti-US BS/propaganda from the poisoned pen of this particular Author.

ttbn,
I'm at a loss why so many can't see that ! If you ask me, Afghanistan is just another tool to infiltrate the West until the numbers are right !
When you have morons who don't put Christian as their religion on the Census form then there's nothing we can do to prevent a take-over !
The US & others gave up after only 20 years, the Muslims have been at it for over a thousand years. Can you see my point ?

Civilization in some ways is a gift as the great British author Kipling said. Civilization and it's structure enables a community to reach high goals- some self sufficient and ingenious individuals don't need civilization. Good commentators all- Kudos- not sure about the author. Sometimes we need to shut up and learn from those who know- sometimes not- sometimes we need to respect the so called paternalism.
