The Howard government should never have dismantled ATSIC without an appropriate plan already in place, to replace it.

Despite what the media has unfairly perpetuated about racism, my political group fielded two aboriginal candidates in the 2005 WA State Election, as a committment to Aboriginal Australians. That's more than what Howard would do, or Labor, or the Greens. In fact, Howard has recently made comments about WA rural aborigines which are totally inappropriate, and shows his real lack of compassion and concern.

Aboriginal representation will be most effective when political groups field indigenous candidates in elections, and encourage and support their election to state and federal parliaments.
