Zero Covid man : Comments

By Paul Collits, published 11/5/2021

At least there is now at least one Australian politician willing, at last, to state his or her position on Covid.

Yeah, well. Sars, bird flu, whatever, is still around. I believe you can still get the plague under certain circumstances. Good luck with zero China. But Morrison will say anything for a vote, dreadful man.

"The voters are stupid to put up with it". Ain't that the truth!

The best article on covid crap (political behaviour) yet.

Too much notice is being taken of the advice being given by chief medical officers and apparently none is being taken from economists. We should be at least pushing for the intake of migrant seasonal workers on farms as well as those occupations such as hospitality and health, to mention just a couple. At the moment, every time there is a single case of Covid in the community, the various state premiers run around like headless chooks. Our overseas missions should be being supplied with vaccines to immunise all those wishing to come here and they could be put straight to work or rejoin their families instead of being forced into expensive hotel quarantine. Those people could also have their Covid status monitored as a precaution.
Fortress Australia is going to destroy us. We are being led by idiots.

On India, though, the Federal Court has found that the "common law right of citizenship" was overridden by the Biosecurity Act. The government does have the power to block people trying to come here from India.

God give me strength!

When will the fruit loops understand that a healthy economy needs a healthy workforce! When will they understand that it was exactly the same argument that created the current overwhelming circumstances and all age groups death toll in India!

This is shite for brains reasoning, to put bluntly!

If you want to fly you put a pilot at the controls, not a plumber or a carpenter. And medical emergencies are best presided over by doctors not eternally complaining exploitive capitalists/right-wing idealogues.

Zero covid requires well-ventilated quarantine and a workforce also locked in and adequately tested at the very least! A quarantine workforce allowed to come and go, can take it with them and become the new superspreaders! And quarantine stations in the heart of our most populist cities, I believe, has all the hallmarks of insanity at the helm?

And we need a vaccine fit for purpose that can be manipulated to remain effective in the face of continuing mutations, given there has never ever been an appetite for eliminating this the way we've done with polio or smallpox!

But given the lessons learned in India!? Eliminate it we must and ASAP! Least it mutates into a vastly more virulent vaccine-resistant strain that kills millions of healthy young Aussies/global citizens!

Burying the head somewhere warm and comfortable is no longer a solution! Neither is sliding down a strong beam of light as an effective escape methodology! But hey, you're welcome to try, given your current grip on reality? At least your spurious advice and
manifestly moronic opinions will be buried with you!

Sorry VK3AUU, you are wrong on all counts.

None of the "vaccines" have proven themselves effective in preventing transmission of the virus, so utterly useless in treating people before being allowed into OZ. The reason the UK had such a hard time was keeping the airports open to facilitate the tourist trade, thus re importing more virus continually.

So far nothing has shown that herd immunity is happening, or even possible.

We do not need migrant, or back packer workers. All we have to do is stop allowing the million or so doles from bludging. A simple no work when offered no dole would cut the welfare bill appreciably & fix the farm labour problem at a single stroke. There is no reason to keep paying dole to bludgers, while crying out for workers.

Meanwhile I wonder if Mr knickers in a knot Collits has had his holiday plans interfered with, causing this bit of garbage. Perhaps he & VK3AUU could chill a little, picking tomatoes for a week or two to help the farmers.

We are being far too gentle with "permanent" residents, allowing them to spend years in their birth country but to return when they wish. Back in the 70s a pommy mate of mine was not game to leave the country, as it was not certain he could regain his residency on return, even though he was married to an Ozzy girl. Time we said, go home for extended periods, or send your kids home, stay home.

Meanwhile, the vegies rot in the ground, the fruit doesn't get picked, the construction projects don't even get to the drawing board, hospitals run out of doctors and nurses. Not all these jobs can be done by the dole bludgers. Sorry, you are the one who is wrong on several counts.
