Should Western societies respond to the Communist Party of China (CCP) through sporting boycotts?

Western societies should hang their heads in shame for having anything to do with Chinese Communist thugs at all, particularly in the Games that are supposed to bring nations together. But, they don't and they won't, which should make us think about just how different Western leaders are, or will be in the future, from these Communist thugs.

As long as Westerners are silly & greedy & keep buying the countless, totally unnecessary Chinese commodities then there's really no point in even discussing this !
Without the stupidity of so many Westerners China could never have reached the position it has !

Individual, I agree with you.

The situation we have now is very much caused by consumers buying cheaper products from China for many years, and idiot policy makers and think tanks who live in Disneyland thinking that freer trade was going to change a country controlled by a powerful CCP with no tolerance for checks and balances.

'A fleet of British warships and military aircraft billed as the "largest concentration of maritime and air power to leave the UK in a generation" will depart next month for visits to India, Japan, South Korea and Singapore, in a display of Britain's ambition to exert a much stronger presence in Asia.'

This might have more effect on the CCP than games boycotts. Excellent news to go with the new UK/AU free trade deal.

Yes, ttbn.

But why not hit them on all fronts to show them we don't want or need the CCP in a world we interact with.

I have always believed that the US and UK (and its allies) are crucial to world order.

Quite simply, not all cultures are equal, and I will always remain pro Western in my outlook.

Chris,

Certainly we should make ourselves clear on all fronts; and yes, West is best but too many many people are starting to doubt it because they believe the guff about 'equality' and have never learned about the murder and mayhem caused by the alternative over the last century.
