Thus we see the republicans running up the national debt and blaming the democrats, then taking the credit when the Democratic have wound it back. Hence an economy that entered the post-war period, enjoying an unprecedented period of prosperity, to see all the gains squandered at the altar of extreme capitalism.

Thus we saw all that had been won, wound back and the minimum wage allowed to completely stalled unchanged for 30 years. Just one of the economic symptoms that underline and highlight the points I've made.

Democracy is not being scuttled by any party in particular. When Democracy can be categorised into so many groups or types, then all the whining about the loss of Democracy falls flat.

Trump is simply applying every trick Democracy will allow. Stacking the Supreme Court with friendly voices is not his invention.
This will challenge the Democrats “trick” of postal voting which traditionally favours them. That’s fair and Democratic.

Personally, I think a new category of Democracy should be raised exclusively for the US: Snake Oil Democracy.

Democracies equal world peace because while totalitarian countries go to war with other totalitarian countries, and democracies go to war with totalitarian countries, democracies have never gone to war with each other.

The primary means of creating a stable and peaceful democracy is to have population who have a general agreement upon what constitutes right and wrong behaviour. Democracies are doomed where foolish people for reasons of power, virtue signalling or outright stupidity promote the importation of immigrants from failed societies who have diametrically opposed cultural values to the host population. President Macron of France recently declared the French people are defined by their commitment to free speech, especially the idea of mocking the clergy. This is because in the time of Louise the 16th, the church was rightly seen as an instrument of oppression against the vast majority of French.

Then along comes multiculturalism and by some form of collective insanity combined with apathy, France allowed the importation of Muslim people who's cultural values are violently opposed to the mocking of their particular religion. The result has been, of course, numerous attacks by Muslims on French people. Is it any wonder that pure hatred of Muslims is rising in France?

The USA is another case in point. Black Africans were imported by rich southern plantation owners to work their farms, without any concern for whatever future social problems that bringing a fast breeding race of people with low collective intelligence and a genetic predisposition to violence greater than any other race would do to future social cohesion. Even today, rich Republicans openly endorse illegal immigrants as workers on their fruit farms and ranches, and too hell with the future consequences.

Those consequences are now coming home to roost. The USA is now a nation divided by race and culture will not survive as a democracy. The future of the USA is either as a left wing or right wing totalitarian state. Gun sales are through the roof. We are looking at another US civil war no matter who wins the US Presidential election.
