PLO and Hamas must hold elections or let their citizens emigrate : Comments

By David Singer, published 30/9/2020

The PLO's continuing refusal to negotiate with Israel on President Trump's Peace Plan sees West Bank and Gazan Arabs remaining captive to accepting these disastrous PLO decisions without any rights to vote or emigrate.

This subject is relegated contemptuously to the overflowing waste paper basket of “who cares”.

Maybe as a simple fix for the problem David Singer is obsessed with, and we on this side of his typewriter suffer the consequences of, would be for the PLO to renounce it’s own equal obsession with the Koran, and wave rainbow flags at the Israelis.
The results could be spectacularly successful.

Dan.

Telling PLO and Hamas what they "must" do is futile. I'm with Dan: who cares!

Why? So that resolute leaders who oppose ever expanding, illegal annexation, can be removed at a rigged election?

There's only one must here for you, David! You must stop telling the occupied, what they must do! And with a gun held to the head, allegorically?

Self evidently, it has been you and Nethanyahu who have repeatedly rejected a two-state solution! And both you and the aforementioned, too thick to see that's the only deal on the table that the PLO or Hamas will look at as a first order objective, before anything else can be agreed to!

When you've nothing left to lose? And Netanyahu's verbal promises, not worth the paper they're written on? You tell those who keep telling you what you must do? Nuts!

Good onya David.

Israel's recent Abraham Accords rapprochement with moderate Arab states, is impressive.

Palestinians fighting the peace, that even some Arab States want, will render many Palestinians the losers.

The expectation of Israel's critics that Israelis can never own their own land has much to do with ancient anti-Semitism. World regions have constantly changed boundaries and majority populations for millennia.

Just look at we Australians who stole Aboriginal land by conquest, since 1788. Have we any thought of giving Aborigines their high value coastal land back - like the Sydney beaches and "Port Jackson"?

Is an absolutely preposterous suggestion by a supporter of what amounts to the Criminal Apartheid Zionist Settler State in Occupied Palestine that the political organisations representing the Palestinians should do as he suggests rather than continue to oppose the invaders of their country. Remember the origins of the Jewish state of Israel. The British when gaining the upper hand over the collapsing Ottoman Empire in World War 1 promised Zionists in the USA they would create a Jewish homeland in Palestine if the USA entered the war supporting the Allies. Which they managed to arrange due to strong influence over politicians and the media. Effectively the British then gave away territory owned by locals who fully occupied the country despite opposition by them for obvious good reasons. Then there was politican support for this expressed in other jurisdictions. Often dressed up as if it was helping Jews for altruistic reasons while in fact largely an excuse to have some of the Jews who antagonised, exploited or otherwise upset their own citizens helped to move to another country.

For around 100 years now, immigrant Jews whose ancestors long ago lived largely in the rogue kingdom pf Khazaria around 1,200 km north of Palestine rather than being descendants of the 12 tribes of Israel of biblical times have been continually been stealing more Palestinian land for their own mainly immigrant settlers. It has long been proven that this is just a classic example of "the more they get, the more they want". The Palestinians should avoid conceding any more than they have to.

Yep mox

Over 100 years ago the humanitarian British promised the oppressed Jewish religious minority a homeland.
