Will COVID-19 end the 'one-world village' ideology? : Comments

By Charles Essery, published 24/3/2020

If you have no demonstrable vaccination/health history or come from a country which poorly regulates its sanitation/cultural practices, then you must lose that freedom of movement.

A dumping of of the "one village" nonsense and idiotic globalisation should be on the cards, but I doubt that the people with all the say will accept anything that interferes with their corruption and privilege. And there the are the half-witted millennial Australians who think that they can flit around the world, on their own without local guides, 'going native'. Those idiots have to share the blame for bringing back the China virus with them.

"While the UN etc will not interfere or criticise the internal policies/affairs of nation states …". What rubbish! The UN spends a lot of time criticising Australia and trying to interfere with our sovereignty.

Happy multiculturalism and open borders.

Interesting article, unlike yesterdays' factual but monotonous piece on COVID et pandemics/epidemics and the media panic frenzied professional media pundits.

Well said tbbn, totally concur. and as for UN/WHO, they make the Greens senators look good, intelligent and 'lean' with public gravy train use and even their gas-guszzling ( carbon offseted or course) global study tour trips!

Global politics, UN et al must be wiped out before we can rebuild a post-COVID new order world.

What a disgusting, pandering, xenophobic piece of rubbish this article is.

The primary vectors into this country of this virus have been Australians returning from overseas holidays. Zero discussion. Another have been from international students which help contribute to a sector which is the third largest earner of export dollars and thus our standard of living. Again zero discussion.

Instead this;

"If you have no demonstrable vaccination/health history or come from a country which poorly regulates its sanitation/cultural practices, then you must lose that freedom of movement. This is the only way to force those countries (such as China in the case of COVID-19) who ignore their global citizen duties. They need to regain the right to access that freedom of movement visa we have so naively given them."

So focus is about limiting those travelling from those countries not those travelling to them. Australians are among the world's highest travelling populations with well over a million taking cruises each year. Hardly a peep in their direction. Pitiful.

All this is doing is giving lip service to the brain dead on this forum who want someone external to blame. It crudely attempts to deflect from the woeful responses from our Federal government an from the actions of those irresponsible Australians who are ignoring even the most basic recommendations from our health authorities.

No! SARS1 was caused by civet cats. MEARS by camel and SARS2 i.e., covid-19 by either bats or possibly snakes. poor sanitation spreads other nasties, mostly bacterial.

Borders and border security are never able to be truly closed.

No matter how difficult or dangerous the US of A's southern border is frequently penetrated by illegals! All for economic or persecution reasons! And that ain't going to stop. During the war years, when the Axis borders were locked down folk still got through.

Ditto when East Germany was fenced in with that wall and shoot to kill border guards, thousands escaped.

Folk from Tibet still risk their lives and extremely high mountain passes to obtain our freedom and rights, far from their ancestral home. Ditto the Wiga community!

Even Gulags and Starlags haven't been able to totally prevent the movement of people.

Besides, we are just one planet and it has never ever been easier to move in hours from the furthermost reaches to anywhere else.

And the pandemic has shown that the world's economy is global as we rush to source commodities from somewhere else when the Chinese economy faltered.

But then I have been saying for decades, our reliance on China and our coal exports has been nothing short of stupid and bloody-minded!
When we needed to be a country, that still made stuff here and could have but for the most asinine and incompetent energy policy and the willful self-imposed, prohibition on for peaceful purpose, nuclear power!

What we do not need, however, is some ten-pound pom/xenophobe, coming here with the usual British disease/mischievous and vexatious rubbish and trying to, with barely veiled, white supremacy, to conflate a pandemic with the now essential, global economy?

No Sir, not on!

If you don't like here and how we do things here? And if it was better there? Well, I'll pass the hat around. So, tottle pip old chap and Bon voyage.

SteeleRedux's rage against his own kind is palpable, and very disturbing.
