Lots! And if combined with also remote thermal imaging, can be used as new, space-age unbeatable and completely covert lie detection.
Imagine if all our courtrooms and parliaments were so equipped? Perjury and the usual pork pes would have real consequences even for the most gifted liars. Can't wait for that day and for the professional liars (e.g. Assange?). to get their just rewards! Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Saturday, 7 March 2020 9:19:08 AM

Interesting Thought Alan B.
Imagine when each Judge/magistrate had access to an Artificial Intelligence assistant that scanned the facial expressions, temperature, sweat and even "odours" produced by both the defendant and their lawyer. That would be far better than getting them to swear of the Bible! Posted by Alison Jane, Saturday, 7 March 2020 1:20:14 PM

Facial recognition: policing our roads, but what else?
That's the Transport Control Grid their building and why they need 5G. COVID-19 will help the push for a cashless society Posted by Armchair Critic, Saturday, 7 March 2020 1:24:13 PM

Armchair C, Of course the 'mobile phone safety driven initiative' is the tip of the iceberg. Once accepted (which it seems to have been ) this will spread into all aspects of transport... driving on roads, pedestrians, mass transport offences/payment and.... hopefully they pick up on those ultimate pests... the spandex glad thugs who freeload on the public roads and break all the rules!
Having said that, as many of them are inner city public servants who draw up the rules/regulations, I doubt we will ever have FR turned against these elite cyclists. Posted by Alison Jane, Saturday, 7 March 2020 3:23:59 PM

Facial recognition is NOT being used on the roads for any purpose and most definitely not for mobile phone offences. They photograph the offending vehicle and, just like speeding fines, require the owner to take responsibility or identify the culprit.
FR is enough of a problem without jumping at shadows. "space-age unbeatable and completely covert lie detection." It might be possible to make it covert but there's no such thing as unbeatable lie detection. Just another thing Alan has misunderstood from wherever he gets his wacky ideas. First, the so-called tells for lying aren't even close to being universal. In lie detection the false negatives are enormous and the false positives not much better. Second, as the great Prof Costanza explained "Its not a lie if you believe it".... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn_PSJsl0LQ Posted by mhaze, Saturday, 7 March 2020 3:27:10 PM

Seriously, but why do we all hang on to 'freedom of liberty' issues when the national Id card is proposed?
