I'm sure some folk will find this story interesting? And if it points to the fact that we were once a much more egalitarian and mostly unified society? Mostly all sharing a distinct brand of culture/social mores.

That said, history has a way of repeating itself as one or two powerful but relatively unintelligent folk, get their grubby greedy, power-hungry hands on the levers of the economy and become the slave of it!

And s such impose disastrous consequences on the rest of the world!

And so the clock ticks and the, business as usual, caravan rolls on and on with nothing much changing? Other than the face of the earth as arable land and water vanish! And the refugee camps full of dispossessed folk forced off of their land by exponentially increasing millions, by enduring droughts and subsequent desertification!

The grapes of wrath, set in the same time frame period as the Author's contribution, is also a good read and describes how the wrong agriculture template, when applied to a newly settled American west, turned the whole place into a veritable dust bowl.

Even as unprecedented population pressure demands more and more of both.

One recalls how the Great Depression was created out of a comparatively manageable mild recession that was forced to become far worse by another ultra-conservative, isolationist president!

Recounting of history might serve some useful purpose if our mostly mediocre leaders would or could learn anything from it!

But just bulldoze ahead with the same fundamentally flawed idiotic ideological imperatives (business as usual) that stuffed us last time!

Donald Trump is in simple need to carry a rainbow crucifix, to hold out against the liberal elites. That should fix the problem.

It would if the problem were simply one of them against us. But with the political culture of duopoly, what distinguishes a Democrat from a Republican? Trump can't be sure.
And neither can we.

So what is it then that the mass media see as a threat. So much so that they have shot themselves in the foot by separating their own credibility from the bottom-line, as the masses stampede away from their cause?

Well, it's the lie of it all, as seen and now felt by those masses who are increasingly falling into poverty in the West, from the total disregard shown by the perpetrators of mass injustice, the leading edge of it all, loosely described as the mass media!

All praise to Donald Trump!

I really want to like this story but I can't get past the fact that he says she was born in 1882 and celebrated her 100th year in 1980.

Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus - false in one thing, false in everything.
