The US economy is slowing because of the Fed, not because of the dispute with China : Comments

By Michael Knox, published 19/8/2019

All that is happening is that the slower growth, inflicted on the US economy by Fed tightening, is now having a slowing effect on US operating earnings per share growth.

What a load of crock and shovelled by the shipload.

The tax breaks just a very short term sugar hit for the economy. The extra massive liquidity created by massive debt and quantitive easing should have been ploughed into additional productive capacity by the US industrial giants.

Instead, most of it was used to boost dividends and subsequently Executive bonuses. And the debt remains as does the propensity to force-feed more and more of our finite wealth into fewer and fewer hands. And another Great Depression in the making!

Is that what a six times bankrupt, Trump meant when he said, make America Great again? And he has all the ingredients in play to make another. An isolationist policy coupled to thoroughly disgraced trickle-down economic (crumbs from the rich man's table) theory!

We for our part will be taken down with whom we are economically chained to! And given that will ensure a reduction of already scarce tax revenue. Some services will have to go or be massively reduced! Social welfare and pensions maybe!? Well, who is going to pay for them? Our visiting Chinese nationals? Visiting Backpackers?

Or perhaps a resuscitated industrial sector? The latter the only one with a snowflakes chance in hell of allowing us to stay afloat and independent as the world self destructs economically as a power play between rival and equally extreme and self-absorbed ideologies.
More later.

The Fed's raise extortionate rates in 2018 so drained the US economy has made it so only the greatest economic genius of president Trump can help. Rates must be lowered to negative 5-10% range. Thank God, Trump is president and will defend us against the predators of Canada, Vietnam, Germany, Mexico and France.

Iran deal overturned and as always and as here, higher energy prices reduced vital discretionary spending/all but forced our industrial/manufacturing base offshore!

The solution? Safe, clean, cheaper than coal, thorium nuclear energy and with it power prices below 3 cents PKWH! This possibility seems to have frightened the bejesus out of our coal-fired pollies, who seem to think we need a coal industry far more than a workable affordable industrial manufacturing base.

And we already know how to build small unpressurised thorium reactors based on the successful Oak Ridge model that can be incorporated into the FUJI 350 MW molten salt reactor. With a few minor changes and extra passive, walk away, safety.

The difference, simply preferring molten fluoride over molten sodium. And after several years of testing and improvements come up with a model we can mass produce, which in turn will resuscitate completely our home-grown steel and aluminium industry and our Automated manufacturing base.

And we should be investing into all the required R+D now to make all that's proposed here doable! We need to once again export manufactured products and our steel and aluminium to the world, not prop up a service economy with hostile migrants/a fifth column!?

We should be exporting steel and steel and aluminium products, not rocks. And we should build all our cars, electric, and their batteries here and the graphene highways and byways that would also end any range limitations!

Graphene Would allow much stronger higher load-bearing roads and structures that last two or three times longer with far less maintenance! Also serve as a giant recharge grid for all manner of electric vehicles even while they traverse said roads and structures, via magnetic induction interfaces recharging their batteries while moving!

[This is how to, not only revitalise and resuscitate our economy but massively turbocharge it and all manner of cooperative entrepreneurial opportunity!]

Graphene highways also serving as a replacement for eyesore transmission towers due to the fact that Graphene, apart from being the strongest material on earth, is also a superconductor!
