You do realise that the survey delivered a 42% YES total.
The lying, scheming YES @rseh*les pushed a misleading campaign which was picked up by the moronic, gutless govt of the day, and the lie continued into law.
The true result was 40% YES of the 70% of Aussies that bothered to say, because not everyone gave a sh!t about a nothing survey.
So if you do the math, it will show that not 100% of the population participated, only 70%.
40% of the 70% indicated YES.
So 40% of 70% equals 42% of the 100%.
100%, being ALL Aussies, as in the case of an actual 'vote'.
So to clarify; 42% said YES.
The rest 58%, was NO, or don't give a sh!t.
The yes camp can go and get stuffed if they try to imply that someone not taking the survey means YES, it doesn't, because if they were a YES backer, they would have been out there ensuring they got their lot over the line, so those that could not be bothered indicate clearly that they were NO voters if the survey had gone to them.
So the truth then is most of Australia can't stand the idea of SSM and that was made clear with a only a 70% turnout and a final count of.........42% YES.

The true result was that a little over a quarter of the country voted in support of SSM.
