I've been to Malaysia twice. The first time I did the West coast, which is modern and felt safe. The second time I did the east coast, which is backward and much more Islamic. Didn't feel safe or comfortable.

Malaysia is a lovely little country, but any country run by a senile old man is not a place I would care to visit again. Throw in more Islam, and it is definitely not a place to go to. If they don't want foreign dollars, that's there call. Again: stuff Malaysia.

I haven't been to Malaysia but some workmates have & they told me that it is a very strict country & that's what makes it work. Many Australians apparently retire to there because of the better life they can have there.

Murray Hunter's article was interesting because it gives some explanation for the love affair between two polar political opposites, Islam and Socialism (of both the National Socialist and International Socialist varieties).

That Socialism in the western world is rooted in the civil service is hardly surprising when you remember that Socialism is basically, a government of the civil service, by the civil service, and for the civil service. The Soviet Socialist Republic of Canberra is testament to that fact.

Both Islam and Socialism are totalitarian. So, it is not surprising that in Malaysia, the civil service has become the primary support base for Islam. Just stick up for Islam and you get a well paying unproductive non job for life. Another thing that Socialism and Islam have in common, is an absolute hatred of the people who provide the tax revenue they need to keep creating public service non jobs for their supporters. In Malaysians case, it is the Chinese and Indians.

Now the Malays have reason to be leery of the Chinese who basically run the economy and run everything that works, because in 1951, the Chinese tried to stage a coup to hand the country over to Red China. So there is nothing that the Malay Muslims would like better than to get rid of the Chinese, and the Indians as well. Islam doesn't do diversity. What better way to get rid of your unwanted minorities than to become more Islamic, in the hope that the Chinese and Indians will immigrate to Australia or some other western country (they never go anywhere else) and leave Malaysia for the Malays.

The only problem with that is, that without the Chinese and Indians, the Muslim Malays could not run a chook raffle. The rule of thumb has always been, the more Islamic a country is, the more of a backwards sheethole it is. Malaya will eventually come to resemble Uganda after that prize Muslim moron Idi Amin chucked out all the Indians who kept the place running. While culturally divided Australia will come to resemble something out of Blade Runner.

Your assessment is pretty spot on Lego. I have been to Malaysia half a dozen times. Good friends of mine (Chinese/Malays) grew up in Malaysia. You only need to walk into shops to see the difference in service between the Muslim Malays and Chinese Malays who actually want business. There are of course exceptions. I did have one friend who worked among the true Indigeneous Malays. They were basically told that if they did not convert to Islam that water and other services would be cut off from their communities. Your analogy between socialism and Islam is spot on. Our socialist here turn a blind eye to Islam's intolerance and yet get highly offended by a biblical txt on someone's private social media.
