The polls weren't flawed, they were very obviously and self evidently faked, so the indolent youth would be led to believe they just didn't need t go get up off of their bone lazy self-indulgent asses and go vote

! With crowing religious fundamentalists deciding it was a vote for so-called "religious freedom" and a return to the discrimination the SSM pleb, so clearly and profoundly rejected!

The next election is three years away and with that in mind, Labor under its new united leadership team need to count up all the broken promises and failings of the Turnbull/Abbott/Turnbull/Morrison revolving door government! Its called, being held to account!

They also need to embrace nuclear energy and the thoughtful disposal of other nations nuclear waste, which is just unspent fuel in MSR thorium!

And thousands of years worth! And at retail prices lower tha a cent PKWH! I kid you not!

“Even after the debacle of the Coalition's ousting of Malcolm Turnbull, the polls showed us that Morrison was the preferred Prime Minister.”

It is amazing that Malcolm Turnbull appealed to those leaning to the Green-Left.

The ousting of the misinformed, delusional Malcolm Turnbull was in fact not a debacle, but a blessing for the Coalition. If he had remained PM -- and despite his being the preferred PM in the polls -- the Coalition certainly would have been occupying the opposition benches after the election.

The author is incorrect to state that “Pensioners pay no tax …”. They in fact pay GST – a flat rate tax.

“The Adani coal would be exported, but it still does raise a difficult ethical issue: jobs versus the mining of coal. If you have a family with children to support, where would you stand on Adani and its jobs?”

The author professes to be an ethicist, but is obviously a committed believer and promoter of the man-made climate change hoax. Presumably, he opposes the mining of coal as its burning in coal-fired power stations produces CO2 – shock horror. In the absence of scientific and economic substantiation for the hypothesis that CO2 causes dangerous global warming, the warmists rely on false political argument to push for the reduction of CO2 emissions, but unethically omit to point out that replacing coal-fired baseload power stations with weather-dependent renewables leads to much higher electricity prices and much lower supply reliability, that in turn lead to business disinvestment and substantial job losses.

I agree with the principal argument by this author and his points are quite valid.

The union movement did not help Shorten's campaign by its advertising, which mirrored Shorten's myopia.

Anthony Albanese has a broader view of the world and should be a good leader of the ALP, placing them in a much better position towards winning government in 2022.

Don't come the old soldier! This nonsense is half media corruption and half media laziness! The main stream media is useless, no idea! What happened, when, who did it, the basics are not there.
To think we pay over a billion dollars for ABC and SBS and what do we get? I get more info from Facebook and so so much faster. Plus you can directly take a liar to task as opposed to ABC liars and cheats.

This article is Trump level revisionism! The unequivocal fact is polls did not predict the Coalition win. They predicted that Labor would win, with many people intending to vote Labor despite thinking ScoMo would be a better PM than Shorten.

We're less wired than ever to follow our political leaders, but thinks to Turnbull we can see how little difference it makes who is the leader.

There's no evidence of a last minute swing. The simple fact is the polls were not representative of the voting population. But the media had no reason to fake it - this was a cockup, not a conspiracy.

Alan B.,
First you say 2c/kWh, with the correct claim that it would be the cheapest in the world at that price.
Then you raise it a fraction of a cent.
And now you're claiming retail prices lower than 1c/kWh, which is much lower than the poles and wires component of the retail price...
How can you expect anyone to take your MSR price claims seriously?
