The corruption within Ergodan's government is breathtaking. When I visited Turkey in 2014, the newspapers were full of stories of his business supporters being 'sold' land for almost nothing and then given development approvals that would have given the new owners enormous profits (and presumably with some of those profits flowing back to Ergodan and/or his political party). Very sad days for Turkey but the recent election results are promising, although they also promise the threat of a dictatorship if Ergodan chooses to do away with democracy.
