Should the US stop enabling Israel? : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 22/10/2018

They created what is effectively an apartheid state in the West Bank by applying different laws, different roads to travel, and a different security apparatus, all designed to suppress the Palestinians.

There is only one state. There never has been, and never will be, a Palestinian state. America is not “enabling” Israel as though it was doing something wrong. America is doing what any democratic Western country should be doing: allying with the only democracy in the Middle East.

Alon Ben-Meir can “maintain” whatever he likes; that's freedom of speech. But he is talking though the back of his neck.

“Right-wing Israeli governments in particular have portrayed the Palestinians as the perpetual enemy committed to the destruction of the country, and there is not much that can be done other than to keep them at bay by force”. And that is all that is keeping Israel from being wiped out by lunatic Islamists who have sworn to wipe Israel from the map. Ben-Meir is blind and deaf to anything that is a threat to Israel. All his articles are bigoted bullsh-t.

Can`t disagree with the writer.
Israel is indeed the greatest terrorist state in the world and is occupying, and expanding, by terror.

What garbage ateday. The Arab states must be the only states ever, to have lost so many wars, & still be in existence.

Id Israel ever lose a war the whole area will be ethnically cleaned of every Jew in the area.

This is of course what the Jews should have done, but were too decent to actually do. If ever they lose one of these wars, just watch the slaughter that will follow.

Jews and Arabs shared Palestine for a long time without mutual slaughter. That came to an end when Zionists with the help of the Yanks seized by armed violence a large slab of Palestine and proclaimed the resulting racist state as a so-called "Jewish Homeland". This was and is an insult to the large majority of the world's Jews who coexist as equals with everyone in dozens of homelands including Australia.

Israel originally was very tolerant of Palestinians moving in and out of Israel, but true to
form, the terrorist bomb attacks began in Israelie cafes and public places.
I remember one attack myself, must be two or three decades ago, where they blew up a
school bus of Israelie school children. The number of these attacks numbered over 100. Israel got stricter about letting them move freely into Israel and eventually built the wall to curb their attacks.

It was the Palestinians own fault they lost Gaza and the West Bank.
Four Arab states surrounded and barricaded Irael in those areas, in the six day war.
Israel fought their way out of this blockade, plus the blocking of Israels access to the Suez Canal and took these areas as a defense against further blockades.
