Is Melbourne’s promised loop rail line justified by jobs growth in suburban centres? : Comments

By Alan Davies, published 11/9/2018

There's very little reason to think the Andrews government's promised suburban loop rail line will catalyse jobs growth in suburban centres on a scale that even remotely justifies the cost.

The secret plan of course, is to convert Australia into China. Viewed in this light, the whole debacle makes sense.
The Chinese live in congested areas around rail corridors. This appears to be future plan for a developers bonanza...

You not as stupid as you sound Dan and essentially right on the money, hopefully without us becoming China?

Albeit, if left to Canberra, they could just buy as much as they want, always providing our recalcitrant pollies are provided with expensive post-politics consultancies. And the benchmarked average is now $800,000 a year?

Alan Davies Just keeps putting the same failed critique up again and again.

Glad, he wasn't around when the Harbour bridge was being contemplated given with his beancounter record he'd have scotched that one as well and for the same patently ideologically based reasons?

The only way that politicians, union bosses, investment bankers, construction management & construction workers can ensure they attain great wealth is hugely expensive projects. These are the only way there is enough money floating around that a few tens of millions can fall through the cracks, without becoming obvious.

Projects like this, the South Australian sub contract, & Snowy 2.0 are the very best way to ensure the above 'mates" have a shot at great wealth.

Only the useful idiots, or those hoping to get a bit of the pie themselves could approve of these terribly wasteful projects. The only empire building they support is in government departments, unions & favoured industrialists. Very little if any will benefit the average Ozzie.

Check my bank balance Alan, & you'll know I am simply an interested observer.

Of course it used to be only an action of the left, but since people like Turnbull have been allowed in, it's all of them.

You have got to wonder how much money do some need to be happy.

I prefer to think of politicians as a homosexual conspiracy. Rainbow children, with a gay nightclub at each end.

Turnbull is not just a mummy's boy I bet. Andrews fits the mould. Do they pay their surrogate husbands and wives to cover their evil debauchery, as did Gillard and Keating?

Let's just trust this lot with fifty billion in taxpayer funds, to further their evil lack of morality as this country ventures into a Chinese takeover-by-stealth, with the blessing of a trusted politician.
