By Gene Tunny, published 16/5/2018

Trad needs to show how she can reduce state debt from its current level of $71 billion, or at least prevent it from blowing out to nearly $81 billion, as currently projected for 2020-21.

How indeed? And there's a list as long as your arm that includes, the Traversern disaster, and a hugely expensive desal plant and a pipeline grid. Then there were those privatisation decisions that saw revenue sucked from treasury and into private pockets. That saw pipelines rushed up to Toowoomba and Trarong. And general incompetence/spending money to fix mistakes? These folks couldn't run a chook raffle without stuffing it up. Whatever you say about Joh Bejourke Petersen. He built stuff that earned income and enough to fully repay some massive borrowings! And the template these folks could and should follow. Always providing they both receive good frank and fearless advice, accept and follow it. Even if that requires a leap of faith and heroic courage. And use that courage to build several waste burning MSR's Waste other folks will pay us annual billions to burn and in the process generate virtually free electricity, which can be transmitted south on demand and for a considerable profit. As annual billions. And given that the energy is virtually free and the nuclear power stations were paid for with other folk's money. Sell industrial power up here in Queensland for 5-6 cents per KwH. As a win-win outcome. following that invest in deionisation dialysis desalination that then put truly affordable desalinated water almost anywhere in the state and on-demand Affordable energy and water is our key to unparalleled growth, debt reduction and wealth generation. But let's not mention the incredible waste borne of the incompetence of the Labor govts. from Beatty on.
Never trust a person who can't be even handed
In short the people deserve the govts they elect because all the people emulate the individuals in govt with the ' Gimme, Gimme' mantra.
Where there's confusion there's profit, so whether you get fleeced by knife or gun, you're going to walk away with lighter pockets
