Far too much speculation here Alon? To qualify as analysis. And neither of these men are in any way predictable. XXX Moreover, China needs to reassert traditional control and it knows the west will never ever accept a nuclear armed North Korea. Nor the caprice and whim of a madman, with his finger hovering over a nuclear button. XXX Alan B.

Paradoxically it is Trump's talk of nuclear war that is a major reason Kim is coming to the conference table.

Alan B. is correct. The main pressure on Kim may be China. China doesn't want a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula.

China would bear the cost of:

- millions of North Korean refugees flowing into China

- nuclear fallout drifting into China

- and the heat being on China to respond by nuclear intervention or not. All approaching global nuclear war.
