'Vive la Difference!' Don’t use marriage to equalise unequals : Comments

By Michael Casanova, published 1/11/2017

There is something completely unique about the relationship we’ve always known as ‘marriage’, the union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.

Love no more; marry no more. The useless society.

Society as we have known it is coming to an end. People who know what they are talking about are preparing for 'long Dark Age' that could last for centuries- if there is anyone left to notice, of course. Probably, there will be people who survive, but it will be in a meaner, nastier world than we know now.

Catholic eh! Youve got a hide mate. After all the filthy child abuse and pedophilia uncovered by the royal commission and numerous other investigations, around the world, it is pretty obvious who the real dangers to children are. Get your own house in order before you dare try to use children to support your bigoted and hateful notions.

As always with this disingenuous writer, he conflates other issues!

And calls peer reviewed medical research, gender ideology. And expects to get the informed onside with that mendacious mischief?

Anyhow, around 80% of those who were entitled to vote already have!

And shows that this issue, the real one, not unaccepted aspects of biology, is compelling unusual interest.

It has also motivated around 100,000 new first time voters to enrol.

And given they are the younger demographic, almost certainly part of the yes demographic?

This "survey" concludes in just a few days and no amount of preaching to the converted/brainwashed, is likely to swing the result!

Moreover, this result cannot be validated! Except by the people at the ballot box and just not wasting their votes!

But using them to punish those, whose well known and published views they just don't share, makes then prime targets for electoral reprisals!

Like Ireland but even more so, our young have their own ideas their own minds and last but not least. An untrammelled ability to think for themselves and critically, not how they're told!

And that's why voting cubicles are private and guarded by electoral staff!

The stand over merchants have had their day and chose ice that was far too thin to skate on! Roll on Nov. 7!

The coalition brought this on to avoid taking it to an election! Good luck with that and the endless rise in the cost of living and housing!

Moreover the biggest goal is inherent in just fixing them and now while you're still in office. As opposed to just giving the opposition a couple of dozen free kicks!

Courtesy of the gay community, their family and lifelong friends! All of who will be justifiably ropable over this huge waste of scarce resources!

That redirected could have built a thorium research reactor! And thereby force a very real prospect of much, much lower costing energy!

And something actually important to all the posters!

Hi, Mikk. I take it that you have two points: 1. the views of anyone who subscribes to Catholicism position can be ignored without guilt of bigotry because Catholicism itself produces too much child abuse; 2. the article only presents hateful and bigoted arguments.

1. If it were shown that there was more child abuse in other sectors of society, such as de facto households, would you discount their views?

2. Can you point out what is hateful or bigoted in in the article's arguments?

Hi, Alan B. What aspects of biology do you not accept?
