Rescuing refugees by recovering humanity : Comments

By Stuart Rees, published 4/7/2017

Pop and folk musicians have long held visions of a world which encourages respect for a sovereignty of people as opposed to a selfish, go-it-alone patriotism.

I disagree Stuart. Recovering humanity is far simpler than that or some symbolic jingoistic noise making, sometimes masquerading as music etc?

And it starts with the simple notion of just attacking and removing/resolving poverty, in whatever form or guise we find it, wherever we find it! And not by gifts of money or food! Although that may be required at first, as a short term stop gap measure.

Not for nothing is it writ large, give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, but teach him how to fish and you feed him and his family forever!

Now, somewhere north of 60 million people have been displaced by drought! We could but only if willing, recover our completely lost humanity by providing just two relatively easy things! Energy and water!

And only prevented, I believe, by very selfish, self absorbed vested interest and the self serving recalcitrant intransigent pollies who worship at this altar of me, me, me, commercialism? And almost alone, what prevents the recovery of humanity.

Which would use a tiny tobin tax to fund cheap energy, then use that energy at least in part, to desalinate salt water, utilizing new space age, vastly lower costing deionization based desalination, to produce vast quantities of affordable potable water! Which can be used even after it has passed through one set of kidneys, to grow food.

And as that occurs, we will have learned the lesson of how to teach men to fish!

As we do that, ensure we recover our missing humanity, and by doing! Not endless, what if and song and dance routines, that put not one crumb of bread on so much as a single table!

Has Kumbaya been cast out as heresy by the warm and moist? That 'Lord' reference, is not PeeCeee?

That would be a shame, because there are some very melodious versions,

Humanity is not the answer - it only complicates things because it imposes a lie.

Humans are animals.

Fortunately, we are not humans, thus we are not animals, there only can hope be found.

Even animals can show love as they care and protect their offspring and the herd! Take elephants and they way they express sorrow at the passing of the herd's matriarch! Or they way she puts herself in harm's way at the first threat!

And the story for most mammals, particularly those with the biggest brains?

One could do worse than use that brain, if only we and I dare say many other carbon based lifeforms, are just a bit more than uncaring unsympathetic animals?

Although looking at wall street, empathy free big business and multinationals and their race to the lowest common denominator!

One could easily think otherwise?

Even so, it is humanity and the application of universal love. (Do unto others as you would have for yourself.) That sets the human race, "most of us", apart from the common herd, acting out of mindless instinct, rather than rational thinking and logics rites?

And very wise counsel, if the sins of the father are actually visited on the son, via reincarnation?

(Truly truly I say unto you, to reach unto the kingdom of heaven, ye must be born again.) And as that occurs? Truly reap all that we've sown! And in the dimension, where we have sown!? And ultimate, divine justice!

Firstly the question to ask are they real refugees according to UN 70% to are NOT refugees but economic Migrant's.

http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/824794/migrant-crisis-refugee-Italy-Libya-UN-figures-Mediterranean-boat-crossing

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has said seven in 10 people found crossing the Mediterranean are not legitimate refugees but are economic migrants, while the rest are in genuine “need of protection”.

People smuggling and migrant flows are on the rise, the UNCHR warned, with 84,830 people arriving on Italy’s shores so far this year from Libya.

That figure represents a 19 per cent increase from the same period last year.

And 2,108 had died while trying to make the perilous crossing, often organised by ruthless smugglers in unseaworthy, rickety boats.

Secondly Australia got conned as some have returned home to where the supposedly fled from in terror multiple times.
